What I do

I use evidence-based treatments in an individualized manner to decrease the intensity of anxiety and improve your quality of life. I teach teens and adults to identify how anxiety effects their body, thoughts, and feelings and how to move forward with their actions in the direction they want for their life. I love when my clients feel brave and empowered.

Specialties

  • Anxiety

Worries and feelings of overwhelm can be suffocating and paralyzing. By changing thoughts and behaviors, you can approach the things that challenge you so that you can achieve more than you thought you could. I help you do this by taking an individualized approach while using evidence-based treatment, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.

  • OCD

You might feel like bad things can happen to people you love just because 1) you thought about it or 2) you didn’t engage in a certain behavior. We can address this through practicing believing that these thoughts and behaviors can’t cause bad things to happen. I use Exposure and Response Prevention, the most effective approach, to help you overcome these fears.

  • Coping with Chronic Illness

It’s hard for people to understand what it is like to live with a medical condition, particularly if the pain and symptoms can’t be seen by others. My experience working with patients has given me a glimpse into this experience. I support patients as they work to regain their lives to pursue their goals; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps us to do this.

FAQs

How long is an appointment?

Most appointments last approximately 50 minutes, but can range from 30-55 minutes. Longer sessions can be scheduled for an additional fee.

Do you take insurance?

I do not accept insurance. This allows us to have additional privacy and does not require a diagnosis to provide services. Upon request, I can provide a “superbill” with diagnostic and billing codes that you can submit to insurance, which might result in some reimbursement.

How much does it cost?

Each session, either an initial assessment or a therapy session, costs $350. Most major credit cards are accepted. FSA/HAS cards can be used as well. Payment is due at the time of service. I offer reduced rates, on a sliding scale basis for a limited number of clients.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are available online only. Virtual sessions have been shown to be effective and may have added benefits of convenience and being in the comfort of your home or office. If you have questions or concerns about virtual appointments, please schedule a call so that we can discuss them. Virtual sessions available for anywhere in the state of Florida. Practice located in Miami, FL.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. This time is being reserved exclusively for you. If you cancel in less than 2 business days or do not show for your appointment, you will be responsible for the full session fee.

How long do most people stay in therapy?

Some clients benefit from just a few sessions, while some people prefer to have an ongoing relationship and support. Most people who are looking for coping skills to address stress and mood concerns commonly achieve their goals in approximately 10 to 16 sessions.
